General Information

The Blue Pearl Shrimp was bred in Germany from wild Neocaridina cf. zhangjiajiensis. They started appearing in the hobby around 2007. Blue Pearl Shrimp are just as hardy as Cherry Shrimp and breed almost as quickly.

Appearance

Blue Pearl Shrimp range in color from almost white to a nice light blue color. The intensity of their blue depends on genetics and the water conditions of the shrimp. As with most shrimp, the female is more colorful and is generally a darker blue color.
