General Information

The Malaya Shrimp is another interesting species. It is one of the few species in the hobby that have larval young and does not require saltwater to complete its lifecycle. The other great thing about this species is that it does not cross with any shrimp I am aware of currenty in the hobby.

Appearance

Malaya shrimp are highly variable in color. Both males and females can be shades of brown, red, blue, and yellow. The male's color is less intense then the females. The females will have white bands on their backs like the female pictures above, while the males do not have the white bands.
