General Information

The Malawa Shrimp are another Sulawesi species. Although they are not as colorful as most the other Sulawesi species they are easily bred and not nearly as fragile as most Sulawesi species I have dealt with. I have found that they like soft water with a higher pH. Mine are currently kept in water with a pH of 8.0 or so and TDS of less then 100. They do not interbreed with any shrimp I currently know of of in hobby.

Malawa Shrimp are very active and enjoy slowly swimming, almost hovering, through the water.

Appearance

Malaya shrimp are highly variable in color. Both males and females can be shades of brown, red, blue, and yellow. The male's color looks about the same as the females, maybe a little lighter.
